this level have been well above the
In Grades 9 and 10 the students study C.I.E.
- I.G.C.S.E. Cambridge examinations in
Biology, Chemistry and Physics. G.C.S.E. is
a two years course of study that culminates
in a three paper external examination for
each science subject. The I.G.C.S.E.
examinations are universally recognised as a
basis for further studies.

We are fully resourced in Key stage 4 to
support our young learners in achieving
their fullest potential. In Grade 11 the
students are able to sit A.S examinations in
all three Sciences; Physics, Biology and
Chemistry, preparing them for University
entrance. At A.S. level, as part of
achieving this award, the young scientists
are prepared thoroughly for external public
practical exams in laboratory procedures and
MAO School is fortunate to have two
excellent technicians who work from a large,
well-equipped preparation area. There are
four laboratories, that are being upgraded
this summer, as well as the classrooms which
are used for theory-based lessons.
